EcoMag is a design magazine about sustainability. EcoMag aims to foster whole systems thinking and help create an alternative cultural vision that can drive transformational change to meet the goals of a fully sustainable society.

EcoMag No.2

Theme: Ecological Economics
How can design inform our understanding of macro-economics, the nature of money, the role of cheap energy as economic driver and the economic mechanisms that drive carbon intensive lifestyles and waste resources? How can we use the skills in design to respond to systemic economic challenges in building sustainability into our communities? EcoLabs is looking for designers, illustrators and artists interested in working on the themes of economic systems, money, debt,
carbon trading, etc. from an ecologically informed perspective. We will publish more specific briefs and calls for submissions at the end of the year. Contact us if you would like to be notified. We are also still looking for partners and funders to make this happen. For small donations see the Chip-in crowdfunding widget below. Please contact us to discuss on working with us on this project.

Meanwhile, Angela Morelli’s ‘
Steady State’ graphic featured on the cover of EcoMag No.1 has been selected by the AOI as one of the best illustrations of the year. We are working together on an information graphic based on Tim Jackson’s ground breaking new report and book
Prosperity without Growth.
