Environmental Policy

SAVE RESOURCES
We use electronic rather than paper based communications whenever possible.

CHOICE OF MATERIALS
We will only specify paper that is either recycled or paper from sustainable forestry (FSC). We will specify materials from sources that have least impact to the environment.

CHOICE OF PRINTERS
We will only work with printers that are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. We aim to use vegetable dye inks whenever possible.

REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE WASTE
Recycle waste glass, tins, plastic bottles and paper whenever possible. Compost all suitable organic material. Avoid the use of 'disposable' cups and plates, etc.

REDUCE FUEL CONSUMPTION
Avoid unnecessary journeys. Travel by public transport, cycling or walking whenever possible.

TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE
Actively integrate climate change awareness and action into all products and services.
Monitor energy use and use green electricity from Ecotricity.

WORK IN PARTNERSHIP TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
Continue advocating for stronger climate legislation through the support of NGOs, think tanks and climate action groups working towards this agenda.
Continue supporting environmental work through involvement with our local community climate action initiatives (such as Transition Towns Brixton) and global movements of social and environmental justice. Encourage audiences to become more environmentally sustainable. Dedicate resources and time to community projects.

EcoLabs attempts to make our policies known. We have participated in the Designers Accord. Participate in the Major's Green Procurement Code (achieved the Silver Level of the code in 2008). Measure our personal carbon footprints. We aim to minimize our impact on the environment and protect the environment for future generations. EcoLabs' environmental policy is constantly maintained, developed and updated.
